I hired Robert Derrick, owner of Carolina Epoxy Coating, in the winter of 2024 to tackle what I would consider a very difficult flooring job. A previous contractor had removed the old floor and “mud bed” that was nearly 2” thick, leaving a subfloor of 1”x 6” pine planks. Robert convinced me that the best choice for the floor was epoxy as it would be lighter and easier to maintain. After building up and leveling the floor using a combination of ¾” tongue and groove OSB and floor leveling compound Robert poured a floor that exceeded my expectations. He has an excellent eye for color and has a great attention to detail. What started out as a floor with a lot of problems became a showcase for the house. I highly recommend Robert and his crew. He did such a good job on the floor I also hired him to remodel both bathrooms in the house.
